The powerful building of the Senate, inside is where the grand Senators come to speak up about Roman Success or Failure, they also talk about such things as Tax, factions power and who to call Ally and Enemy.
If situations get bad, the Senate can go against the Consul's decision by re electing or by inquiring against them, this is very rare in such political environments, but bad leadership leads only the chaos in the end.
Senate officials are carefully picked, and only the most helpful and loyal of members may be picked, once two generals are picked, there's a public vote between the senator's and magistrates of the senate.
